Andrus Vaht

Andrus Vaht (January 26, 1951 Tallinn - April 21, 2016) was an Estonian percussionist and music teacher.

He began his studies at the Tallinn Children's Music School in 1959 under Erich Loit, later moving on to the Tallinn Music school in 1969/1971 where he studied percussion and then to the Tallinn State Conservatory in 1976, where he continued his study of percussion under Matti Reimann.

He was briefly a part of Mess between 1974 and 1976, and throughout the 70s he played in the "Estonia" theater orchestra. In the 80s he was invited to play in the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and taught percussion (from 1976 to 1989) in the Tallinn Music School.

He was a founding member of the band Ruja (in 1971) and played with the band up to 1980. He was also a percussionist with the band Kaseke.

From 1990 onwards he lived in Sweden, where he worked as a music teacher in Linköping.
