He currently lives in Moscow, where he works at the State University.<br /> <br /> He is considered one of the pioneers of Russian academic electronic music. He began making music in 1961 in the laboratory of Eugeniy Murzin, the inventor of the legendary photoelectronic ANS synthesizer, a tool with which his work became intimately linked. He was very active in the Moscow Experimental Studio for Electronic Music, where such composers as [[Alfred Schnittke]], [[Sofia Gubaidulina]], [[Edison Denisov]], [[Eduard Artemiev]] and others worked at that time.
