Limunovo Drvo (Lemon Tree) was a Serbian band from Belgrade active in the late 1970s. Its founding line-up consisted of Milan Mladenović (electric guitar, vocals), Dragomir Gagi Mihailović (lead guitar), Dušan Dejanović (drums), Goran Kovačević (bass guitar) and Milan Mikica Stefanović (acoustic guitar and vocals). They are seen as the heralds of Belgrade's so called new wave, and its members went on to found Šarlo Akrobata, Ekatarina Velika and Disciplina Kičme.

Biography

The band, named after a song by Aleksa Santic, was founded in the summer of 1977. They mainly performed at guitar festivals, in Žarkovo, Železnik, Block 45 and Dom omladine, and held two solo concerts at the Student Cultural Center and in Novi Sad (Studio M).

The group often changed members, and their last line-up consisted of Mladenović, Mihailović, Dušan Kojić "Koja" and Ivica "Vd" Vdović . After a concert with Pankrti in the Hall of the Student Cultural Center in Belgrade, April 1980, Dragomir Mihailović left the group, and the remaining three members formed a new group called Šarlo Akrobata.

During their almost three years of existence, the band did not record any albums, nor was there a discographic release of any of their songs, but audio recordings of their performances and a few video sequences have been preserved. The audio recording of the entire concert at the Novi Sad Studio M is the most complete and complete presentation of the repertoire of this group.

Multimedia artist and rocker Branko Radaković created a documentary about the band.^[3][4]
