Vladimír Šrámek (b. March 10, 1923 in Košice, d. February 17, 2004) was a Slovak composer.

Biography

Šrámek studied at the Prague Conservatory. From 1953 to 1963 he worked in the music department of the National Museum, after which he lived as a freelance composer.

In addition to an orchestral overture, Šrámek composed almost exclusively works for chamber music, including seven metamorphoses, a nonet, three wind quintets, a string quartet, an Altmaya fragment for voice and chamber ensemble and two pantomimes with instruments and vocals. He also experimented with electroacoustic pieces, such as "Smích".
