He began his studies at the Tallinn Children's Music School in 1959 under Erich Loit, later moving on to the Tallinn Music school in 1969/1971 where he studied percussion and then to the Tallinn State Conservatory in 1976, where he continued his study of percussion under Matti Reimann.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He was briefly a part of [[Mess]] between 1974 and 1976, and throughout the 70s he played in the &amp;quot;Estonia&amp;quot; theater orchestra. In the 80s he was invited to play in the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and taught percussion (from 1976 to 1989) in the Tallinn Music School. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He was a founding member of the band [[Ruja]] (in 1971) and played with the band up to 1980. He was also a percussionist with the band [[Kaseke]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
From 1990 onwards he lived in Sweden, where he worked as a music teacher in Linköping.&lt;br /&gt;
