Birutė Sinkevičiūtė (b. 1959) is a Lithuanian violinist, composer and musicologist. She currently resides in Los Angeles, USA.

Biography

Birutė Sinkevičiūtė graduated from the Lithuanian Conservatory with three specialties - as a violinist, a composer and a musicologist - and her work encompasses those three fields. Her composition "SKAIM I" opens the annual computer music seminars at the Lithuanian Conservatory. She often plays on tour as a violinist. A great number of computer compositions featuring the violin have been created with her direct participation or in response to her request. She also lectures on computer music in many European cities and has an interest in folklore, a field in which her work shows evidence of Medonis's influence.
