Daiga Mazvērsīte

Daiga Mazvērsīte (born March 28th, 1965 in Riga) is a Latvian musician, musicologist and journalist.

In 1984 she graduated from J. Medins College of Music and in 1989 she was awarded a Master's degree in Musicology from the Latvian State Conservatoire.

She began writing about music in 1987, and for a while was the only popular music journalist in the Soviet press, overseen by the Music Council of the Soviet Youth, which she later led.

From 1988 to 1991 she played keyboards in the avant-garde band "19 Gadi Pirms Sākuma".

She has published widely in the Latvian music press, and has written several books related to music, including books about the group "Jumprava", composer Raimonds Pauls and singer Eve Akurateri.
