Maťkovia were a Czechoslovak group of studio musicans led by Martin Burlas, active from 1982 to 1986. They are considered the founders of the alternative / indie rock scene in Slovakia.

Their music was influenced by punk, new wave or synth-pop bands, adding a taste for the ironic. Their songs were recorded in legal studios (mostly in IRŠ Tlis studio) but distributed on cassettes or reel-to-reel tapes underground due to disapproval by the communist government.

After fall of communism in Czechoslovakia in 1989, they released a compilation LP on Zoon Records in 1991.
