| − | A self taught composer, he dedicated most of his life to rock, musique concrete, electronics, electroacoustic and improvised music. He first studied guitar playing at the Duarte Costa Music School in Porto under José Pina (1974 - 1976). He started his career in 1971 as part of several pop-rock outfits, moving on to the King Fischer's Band between 76 and 77 and later becoming one of the founders of the Portuguese pop-rock outfit GNR, from which he would eventually resign in a very public manner through a manifesto. Afterwards he founded the duo Telectu with [[Jorge Lima Barreto]], where he has been one of the leading figures in Portuguese experimental and improvised music.
